Education/ Qualifications
Essential criteria
1. Degree or diploma in Occupational Therapy. State Registration with HCPC
Desirable criteria
2. Membership of specialist group in relevant area of work. Attendance at Clinical Educators course/ post graduate courses relevant to clinical field
Knowledge and Experience
Essential criteria
3. 18 months clinical experience as a band 5 OT. Broad knowledge and application of current best practice in OT with designated patient group. Experience of working as part of the therapy team and wider multidisciplinary team. Evidence of managing own caseload (punctuality, prioritisation and time management).
Desirable criteria
4. NHS experience in an acute hospital setting. Previous experience at band 6 level. Supervision of student or therapy assistant.
Skills, abilities and attributes
Essential criteria
5. Ability to use advanced skills in assessment and treatment of patients in relevant specialty field. Effective written and oral communication skills. Effective report writing skills
Desirable criteria
6. Experience of Audit/ research/ Service Improvement.
