The Opportunity
We have an amazing opportunity in our Games Development Team to teach highly creative students across all of our Further Education programmes as we launch our provision at our Selby Campus. We live by our mantra of “Don’t just play games. Make games!” and are looking for people who are actively creating games in whatever form. This could be the ideal role for you if you are an indie game developer, Unity specialist or are actively creating and releasing games. A working knowledge of various game development specialisms will be a distinct advantage.
Responsibilities
You will work with our Curriculum Managers to further develop our Games Development courses and establish the provision at this site. You will primarily coordinate and teach your programme, and will also foster external links with employers and the Games industry to keep our curriculum current and cutting edge. You will deliver training and assessment of vocational skills, ensuring that students enjoy an exceptional learning experience, with employability and professional practice at its core.
About You
Either you are a new graduate or currently working in the games industry. Or you may already have recent teaching experience. Either way, if you want to bring your expertise into our classrooms, we want to hear from you.
You must hold a Degree/Master’s in Games Development, and GCSE A* - C / 9 - 4 in Maths and English or equivalent.
Qualifications
* Knowledge and practice of using game development workflows individually or as a team.
* Knowledge of 2D and 3D art practices and processes.
* A working knowledge of C# programming (or willingness to upskill in this area) would be a distinct advantage.
* An understanding of the business requirements within a Game Development setting, including all aspects of company logistics.
* Confidence working with industry standard software including project management software, Blender, Unity, and the Adobe Creative Cloud Suite.
* An understanding of the different specialisms used within Game Development and how they are utilised collaboratively to produce product.
* A creative or technical portfolio of work demonstrating practical experience in generating Games and/or Interactive Media related content.
