Come and make a real difference: we're looking for an Assistant Service Manager to help make everyday remarkable for our friendly team in Carmarthen and Ammanford. We are dedicated to supporting those with learning disabilities to live a fulfilled and enriched life in the community. As an Assistant Service Manager, you can play a vital role in this.
In this role, you'll work alongside the Service Manager to ensure a safe and caring service for the people we support and our colleagues. You'll be involved in the day-to-day operation of the service, supporting duties in line with the needs of the people we support. The role involves working shifts on a rota basis, which may include sleep-ins. In the absence of the Service Manager, you'll be responsible for the daily running of the service, providing leadership, monitoring performance, conducting one-to-ones and appraisals, and holding team meetings.
You will build positive relationships with stakeholders and embody our vision and values to deliver a first-class service. The role is part of the Sessional Services team in Carmarthen, providing flexible support tailored to individual needs. You will work across three services:
1. Lifeline Day Service (Carmarthen) - A structured, skills-based day service supporting individuals to build independence through activities like cooking, money management, and confidence-building tasks.
2. On Demand Service (Carmarthen) - Offering daily phone calls, home visits, and community support to help people stay connected, safe, and active.
3. Supported Living Service (Ammanford) - Providing 24/7 support to individuals in their own homes, helping them manage daily routines, engage in the community, and develop independence in tasks like cooking, cleaning, and managing finances.
Your main focus will be on promoting independence and delivering innovative, person-centred, flexible support to make everyday remarkable.
We are looking for candidates who:
* Have experience supporting people with learning difficulties in social care
* Possess Level 3 in Health and Social Care (or are working towards it)
* Have a caring nature and support others to live enriched lives
* Have a good understanding of the Care Council for Wales Code of Practice
* Are flexible to work shifts and provide cover as needed
* Hold a full driving licence, are willing to travel, and have access to a car, with business insurance covered by us (45p per mile)
