The Rent Deposit Scheme plays a key role in this mission, helping young people access safe, stable housing in the private rented sector by supporting them with upfront deposit and rent costs. Working closely with internal teams, local authorities, external partners, and letting agents, we help young people who are ready for independent living take their next step with confidence. You’ll thrive in this role if you are: A strong communicator who builds open, trusting relationships A confident decision-maker with a positive, solutions-focused approach Respectful and empathetic, with young people at the centre of everything you do Flexible and adaptable in a fast-paced environment Committed to your own learning and development Proactive and creative in finding effective ways to support young people This role could be a great fit if you have experience of: Working with young people or adults in housing, homelessness, support, or advice services Building and managing relationships with external partners, landlords, or agencies Supporting people to understand their rights, responsibilities, and next steps Balancing empathy with clear professional boundaries and sound judgement What You’ll Be Doing Promoting the scheme internally and externally to increase appropriate referrals and strengthen key partnerships Assessing young people’s readiness for independent living and identifying any support needs Providing clear guidance on navigating the private rented sector and developing personalised action plans Inspecting potential properties and liaising with landlords and letting agents on behalf of young people Building and maintaining positive relationships with landlords and acting as a key point of contact throughout tenancies Arranging deposit and rent-in-advance payments, administering Home Essentials Grants, and sourcing additional funding where appropriate Offering ongoing advice, guidance, signposting, and referrals to support successful move-ins and sustain tenancies You’ll also ensure accurate record-keeping, handle sensitive information appropriately, and follow Centrepoint safeguarding procedures and policies to ensure young people are safe and supported at all times.
