Rharian Fields offers multi-disciplinary, comprehensive provision to individuals experiencing complex eating disorders. Specialist treatment plans are designed to meet individual needs based on clinical expertise and good practice determined by NICE and MEED Guidelines. We comprise of 8 beds, providing inpatient and day patient services for people aged from 17 years old upwards. We accept clients detained under the Mental Health Act and those requiring nasogastric feeding. We are looking for a kind, caring, and compassionate individual who is motivated, proactive, and dedicated to working with service users with complex eating disorders. The successful applicant must be able to work within essential boundaries and adhere to comprehensive care plans.

Please note: The earliest start date for this position is 01 December 2025.


Main duties of the job

You must be an excellent team player but also have the ability to work autonomously with our service users under supervision of senior staff members. You must have outstanding verbal and written communication skills that allow you to build and maintain professional working relationships with service users and the wider multidisciplinary team.

Your role will require you to facilitate therapeutic groups and 1-1 work with guidance and supervision. You will also be required to develop your clinical skills by supporting qualified nursing staff with nursing observations, including taking blood pressures, temperatures, blood glucose levels, ECGs, weight, and accurately recording results. You will also provide meal and post-meal support for our service users and promote normalized eating in all aspects of their life.

Rharian Fields is a therapeutic environment, providing complementary therapies including Reiki, Indian head massage, and reflexology.

Job responsibilities

To support individuals in their treatment plans under the supervision of senior staff, using communication and the therapeutic relationship as a means to evoke change.

To support individuals within inpatient and day-patient services regarding their nutritional requirements and have a good understanding of balanced diets as well as the enhanced nutrition required for those with an eating disorder.

To have a working understanding of NICE guidelines for Eating Disorders and follow these in your daily work.

To deliver a range of social and recreational interventions with guidance from senior staff, both for inpatients and day patients.

To develop skills to deliver aspects of the care pathways for those with a diagnosis of eating disorders and associated co-morbidities under supervision.

To attend training courses to develop your professional skills, with a particular emphasis on eating disorder-specific training, and complete all mandatory training.

To develop yourself by reading around the subject, attending supervision, and learning from experienced team members to gain a better understanding of the illness and its treatments.


Person Specification


Additional Requirements

* Knowledge of how eating disorders can affect the person and their family and how services can assist in recovery.
* Working knowledge of health legislation and current practice in mental health.
* Ability to make informed decisions and recognize when to seek assistance.
* IT Skills.


Qualifications

* Care certificate or equivalent or willingness to work toward this.
* Specialist training in eating disorders.


Experience

* Experience in a relevant clinical field.
