Are you a driven finance professional seeking a new opportunity? We are currently recruiting for a Finance Accountant to join our Finance team and play a pivotal role in supporting the production of our management and statutory accounts.
Key Responsibilities:
* Maintain the integrity of transactions within the General Ledger to ensure the accurate production of financial reports, particularly around margin and inventory.
* Assist with the balance sheet account reconciliation process, ensuring reconciliations are performed and outstanding items are actioned in a timely manner. This role will focus on inventory management and KPIs.
* Coordinate stock counts across the business, circa 60 sites, taking ownership for collating results and following up with sites to improve processes.
* Calculate revenue, cost of gas, and stock movement journals at month-end, with an eye to continuously improve the estimations.
* Work with the business to strengthen links between sites and finance regarding stock control. Use KPIs to add value around working capital management.
* Play a key role in the external audit process, dealing directly with external auditors.
* Assist in the production of UK Statutory Accounts, ensuring adherence to UK Accounting Standards and managing audit expectations on disclosures.
* Coordinate with the parent company to ensure compliance with reporting definitions and guidelines.
* Support new ways of working by participating actively and suggesting improvements across the team. Continuously review and improve processes as we embed new working methods.
* Engage in wider Finance team initiatives and undertake ad hoc projects as needed.
Key Skills, Experience & Knowledge:
* Qualified or working towards the final stages of CIMA or ACCA qualifications.
* Experience in a financial accounting environment.
* Strong initiative and self-motivation.
* Ability to challenge the status quo and seek improvements.
* Effective communication skills at all levels.
* Sound decision-making skills.
* Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
