Overview
Here at South Staffordshire College, we are looking for a Lecturer in Carpentry to join our team, teaching across a wide range of Level 1, 2 and 3 City & Guilds programmes. The courses are a mixture of coursework and practical assessment, taking place in our purpose built workshops at Cannock Campus, and TORC Campus (in Tamworth). We are seeking an innovative practitioner who can design engaging assessments that inspire our learners.
Following agreed schemes of work, assessment schedules and student monitoring procedures are an essential component of this work. A key aim is to ensure that students meet and exceed their target grades.
Responsibilities
* Teach across Level 1, 2 and 3 City & Guilds Carpentry programmes, including coursework and practical assessment.
* Design engaging assessments that inspire learners and align with agreed schemes of work and assessment schedules.
* Monitor student progress and support achievement of target grades.
* Utilise new technologies to enhance teaching and learning.
* Work in our workshops at Cannock Campus and TORC Campus (Tamworth).
Requirements
* Relevant professional qualification with industry experience in Carpentry.
* Teaching qualification is not essential, but willingness to achieve one in line with current regulations.
* Excellent communication skills; ability to support, motivate and empathise with young learners.
* High personal standards, awareness of quality standards.
