Overview
As a Technology Engineer at PointWire, you’ll be instrumental in strengthening cyber defence capabilities across our clients and internal operations. You’ll deploy, manage, and enhance cutting-edge security platforms, tools, and controls to protect sensitive data, mitigate threats, and safeguard systems, networks, and users. Working closely with cross-functional teams—including cybersecurity, IT, engineering, architecture, and analytics—you’ll ensure seamless integration of security technologies in line with UK regulations (GDPR, NCSC Guidelines), industry standards (ISO27001, CISSP), and contractual obligations. Key Responsibilities
Service Desk Support :Independently manage and resolve Level 1–3 support tickets. Technical Troubleshooting :Provide hands-on support across systems and applications, ensuring timely issue resolution. Enterprise OS Support: Demonstrate proficiency in at least one enterprise operating system (Windows, Linux, macOS). Endpoint & Network Security: Develop expertise in PointWire’s preferred tooling to deliver secure, compliant endpoint and network management. Internal Projects: Contribute to technical initiatives, process improvements, and innovation efforts. Documentation: Maintain clear, accurate documentation for systems, configurations, and procedures. Collaboration :Communicate effectively with colleagues, clients, and partners to support technical delivery. Skills & Attributes

Certifications: A+, Network+, Security+ preferred. Advantageous: Tanium, Corelight, Titania (Nipper), CrowdStrike (Falcon, Next-Gen SIEM), Mimecast, Zscaler, Tenable, Sophos, Rapid7. Systems & Endpoint Management :Experience with Windows Server environments, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy. Familiarity with MECM/SCCM, Intune, Tanium. Network & Security :Strong grasp of network protocols, firewall management, and security principles. Experience with tools like PRTG, Nagios, Veeam, Elastic, Splunk, Phantom. Virtualisation & Automation: Knowledge of VMware, Hyper-V, Proxmox. Scripting experience with PowerShell, Python, Ansible. IT Frameworks :Understanding of ITIL principles and business operations.
