An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Commercial team. We are looking for a professionally qualified and skilled officer who is competent, confident, enthusiastic, and highly motivated to fill the post of Food Safety Officer or Environmental Health Officer. You will be part of a small team of officers to deliver a range of activities fulfilling the Council’s statutory food and health and safety functions.
Environmental Health Officer
Holds a BSc/MSc (or its antecedents; or an equivalency certificate) in Environmental Health; and is registered by the Environmental Health Registration Board or the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health to practice as an Environmental Health Officer/Practitioner; and meets the baseline competency requirements of the Food Law Code of Practice for an Authorised Officer.
Food Safety Officer
Holds a Higher Certificate in Food Control awarded by the Environmental Health Registration Board or the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health; or another “suitable qualification” as defined in the Food Law Code of Practice for an Authorised Officer; and meets the competency requirements of the Food Law Code of Practice for an Authorised Officer; and has recent experience of carrying out relevant food safety interventions.
A full driving licence and access to a vehicle are essential.
