We’relooking for a Planning & ConsentingSolicitor, to join our Legal and Company Secretariat team. This is a pivotal role supporting our Major Infrastructure programme, including landmark projects like the Lincs and Fens Reservoirs.
You’llprovide expert planning consent and other statutory consenting legal advice, drawing upon your direct experienceadvising applicantsforDevelopment Consent Orders(DCOs)
What will you be doing as aPlanning and ConsentingSolicitor?
1. Advising onconsenting strategy forauthorisingproposed development works.
2. Advising on allaspects of required applications forDCOsfor major infrastructure projects under the Planning Act 2008, including the required scope of powers, application documentation, interface with interested parties and landowners and Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA), Habitats Regulations Assessment (HRA)and Water Framework Directive issues, amongst other aspects.
3. Advising on allaspects of required applications for planning permission under the Town and Country Planning Act 1990, including all statutory processes and procedures such as (as necessary) planning appeals and planning inquiries.
4. What does it take to be aPlanning and ConsentingSolicitor?
5. Qualified Solicitor (England & Wales) with10+ years PQE
6. Strong experienceof high planning matters either in private practice or in house
7. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
8. Strong analyticalskills
9. Innovative problem-solving and customer-focused approach
10. Flexible,practicaland collaborative working style
11. IT literate (MS Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint)
12. Full clean driving licence and access to a vehicle
