Overview
An exciting opportunity for a Social Worker to join our countywide learning disabilities team in Northumberland. The post is a permanent contract, full time at 37hrs per week. Salary: £39,862 - £44,075.
Role and approach
This is an opportunity to make a difference. You will work alongside other professionals, promoting strength based approaches to practice and service delivery to adults with learning disabilities.
Responsibilities
* You will work alongside and in partnership with individuals, families and carers using a range of interpersonal and communication skills to comprehensively assess complex psychosocial needs, set objectives, develop care plans and deliver appropriate interventions.
* You will complete Care Act Assessments, Mental Capacity Assessments and collaborate with a range of external services to access resources required to meet the care and support needs you have identified.
* Enjoy a balance of autonomy and support; you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of your caseload but will have regular supervision and the full support of your Team Manager.
Requirements
* Degree in Social Work & registered with Social Work England
* Successfully completed the ASYE programme
* Experience of Social Work with adults, particularly with clients whose primary need is a learning disability
* Valid UK driving licence and access to a car for work purposes
