Axcis continues to work closely with an ASD-specific, all-age special school in the Solihull area. This school specialise in supporting complex autistic learners aged 4 to 19 years, they ensure their provision is tailored to each individual’s specific needs, which can include sensory dysregulation, non/pre-verbal communication and challenging/distressing behaviour.
Two to three cover supervisors are required in school on a daily basis to support with absence cover across the early years, primary and secondary departments. Experience of working within a special school, resource hub or alternative SEN provision is required along with degree level education.
The role will be to lead the class by:
•Following and implementing the planning left by the class teacher
•Leading and supporting the team of teaching assistants within the class
•Supporting the learning of the children you are allocated
•Maintaining control of the class, as a whole, at all times
•Working within different classes through the day and across the week

Requirements:
•Degree level education – Essential
•Experience of leading within classrooms – Essential
•Experience of working within a special school, resource hub or alternative SEN provision – Essential
•Experience of working with pupils with complex Autism – Highly Desirable
•Enhanced DBS on the Update Service required or we’re happy to carry out a new one ahead of you starting the position – Essential
