Childcare Assistant
Brinsbury First Steps – a dedicated childcare group within the Chichester College Group – is looking for a Childcare Assistant to join our team at Brinsbury College campus. The role (Ref: FS4685) is available as part‑time or full‑time, with up to 37 hours per week, and offers competitive pay between £24,434.80 and £24,819.60 per annum plus a rural incentive payment of £1,000 upon successful completion of the probationary period.
Responsibilities
* Work with babies, toddlers and children preparing to start school to support their early learning and development.
* Create a safe, nurturing and stimulating environment where children can learn, socialise, explore and have fun.
* Collaborate with the dedicated team to plan and implement age‑appropriate activities that promote children’s cognitive, physical and emotional growth.
* Maintain accurate records of children’s progress, observations and well‑being.
* Ensure the nursery’s high standards of health, safety and child‑protection procedures are followed.
Qualifications & Experience
* Recognised Level 2 and/or Level 3 qualification (or equivalent) in Early Years, Care and Education.
* Previous experience working in a childcare setting.
* Enthusiastic, organised and flexible with excellent communication skills.
* A First Aid certificate is desirable but not essential.

Working Hours & Schedule
Open 51 weeks a year. Core opening hours: 7.30 am to 6.00 pm. Closed only for Bank Holidays and the period between Christmas and New Year.
