Smart Solutions are currently recruiting for a HGV Class 2 Driver to join our successful client based in the Sheffield S4 area. Our client who specializes in Waste Management is transforming waste into valuable resources and lessening its impact on the environment. Pay rate: £15.74 Shift pattern: Monday to Friday - PM shift 13:00 - 22:30 HGV Class 2 Driver - Duties & Responsibilities The HGV Class 2 Driver primary role is to drive and operate a class 2 dust car, refuse lorry, or bin lorry, to collect trade waste from customers by applying knowledge of commercial driving regulations and roads in the area. They ensure the health & safety standards are met, that required procedures are followed, and that good housekeeping standards are maintained. The work and conditions can be demanding but will provide a fulfilling and interesting career for the right people. The HGV Class 2 Driver will ideally have waste industry experience, but not essential as full training will be provided HGV Class 2 license, Class CE license beneficial Paperwork is correctly completed for loads collected and delivered. Report any delays due to breakdowns, weather or traffic conditions. Report access problems and record contaminated loads. Complete an accurate daily time sheet for all jobs completed. Work alone or assist on board crew with loading of waste Perform daily walk-around vehicle checks Collect refuse from a different local area each day of the week Ensure completion of all additional work and missed bins Maintain awareness of other vehicles or people on the road and operate the lorry safely HGV Class 2 Driver - Person Specification UK HGV Class 2 driving license (minimum 12 months) Digital tachograph card & CPC card Ability to provide a professional waste management service to residential customers Keen and eager to learn new skills Excellent, professional work ethic Good team working skills and good communication skills Ability to adapt quickly to a fast paced, dynamic work environment Previous experience within a waste & recycling industrial environment would be an advantage.
