Warehouse Operator - Treble Shifts Job Title: Warehouse Operative / Packer Location: Dalkeith Hours: Treble Shifts Early Shift 06:00am to 2:00pm Monday to Thursday 06:00am to 12.30pm Friday Back Shift 2:00pm to 10:00pm Monday to Thursday 12.30pm to 5.30pm Friday Night Shift 10:00pm to 6:00am Sunday to Friday AM Role Summary The primary role of a packer is to assist and provide a positive contribution towards the department meeting required productivity levels and quality standards. The role holder would also be responsible for undertaking general housekeeping duties and be expected to help out in other areas of the department when necessary. Key Activities and Responsibilities • Achievement of set targets and performance standards • Packing of finished product • Stock entry into computer of all packed product • Palletising work requested for stock • Picking goods according to sales orders • Ensure all finished goods pallets are securely wrapped before dispatch • Load dispatched goods onto collection vehicles; check delivery manifest corresponds with delivery notes, actual amounts dispatched and destinations are correct • Safe operation of fork lift trucks; conducting daily vehicle safety checks and completing records accordingly • Seek continual improvement in key target areas - productivity, efficiency, waste reduction, quality and costs. • Performs inventory checks Health, Safety, Hygiene and the Environment Ensure all work activities are carried out in accordance with the companies: Health and safety management system and statutory legislation ISO 14001 certification and statutory environmental legislation British Retail Consortium / Royal Society for Public Health accreditation American Institute of Bakers accreditation Maintain high standards of hygiene and housekeeping throughout shift and complete cleaning schedules / documentation in areas of designated responsibility Actively participate in initiatives to improve: Health & safety in the workplace Housekeeping and hygiene standards Waste reduction and the environmental impact of company activities Quality standards through process improvements Key Internal Relationships • Warehouse & Transport Manager • Key Account Managers • Operations • Dispatch Co-ordinator Other Requirements Qualifications • Valid Fork Lift License (counterbalance with at least 1 years experience) Experience & Knowledge • Stock entry using a computer software package • Experience in completing vehicle safety checks • Confident in checking delivery manifests against delivery notes and dispatched items.
