Maintenance Technician – Carpenter / Multi-Trade

About the Role
We are seeking two skilled Carpenter / Multi-Trade Technicians to join our dedicated North London repairs team on a temporary basis. Working across Hackney, Islington, Kensington & Chelsea, Barnet and Enfield, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality maintenance and repair services to our diverse housing stock.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced multi-trade operative looking for stable full-time work, a supportive team environment, and a role where your craftsmanship and customer service truly make a difference.
What We’re Looking For
You will need to hold a manual driving licence and have your own hand tools (specialist tools can be provided if needed). We are seeking individuals who demonstrate:
1. Strong communication skills and a positive, customer-focused attitude
2. Experience working within building, maintenance, or social housing environments
3. A broad understanding of housing repair requirements and varied property types
4. A reliable, proactive and “right first time” approach to your work
5. A strong awareness of Health & Safety standards
6. Previous experience in a similar multi-trade role
7. NVQ or equivalent trade qualification is desirable
Key Responsibilities
As a Multi-Trade Carpenter, you will carry out a variety of repair and maintenance tasks, including:
8. Internal and external door installation, repair and adjustment
9. Splice repairs and general locksmith work
10. Bathroom sub-floor repairs, bath panels and framework
11. Kitchen repairs, refits and general carpentry maintenance
12. General maintenance tasks across occupied and void properties
13. Internal and external window repairs, including single and double glazing
14. Door repairs, lock replacements and refits
Providing an exceptional customer experience is at the heart of this role. You will be a first point of contact for residents, so professionalism, respect and a commitment to resolving issues efficiently are essential.
Working Hours & Additional Opportunities
15. Core hours: Monday–Friday, 8am–5pm
16. Additional earning potential through call-outs and out-of-hours work
