Mear Technology provides a full cycle of IT services including consultancy, supply, installation, configuration, monitoring and support.
Overview
As an apprentice you will be based alongside the Helpdesk team, supporting with 1st line IT support for customers gaining hands-on, in-office experience.
This is a 24-month fixed term contract where the successful applicant will work towards a SCQF Level 6 IT Support diploma with GP Strategies over 12-months.
Salary: £16,000 - £22,000 per annum (DOE)
Working hours: Monday to Friday 9:00 - 17.30, 37.5hrs per week
Location: On-site role based with Helpdesk team

Qualifications
As a IT Support Apprentice, you'll get a deep dive into the world of IT support while earning industry qualifications. You’ll:
* Deliver first-line technical support to a wide range of business clients
* Troubleshoot issues on Windows and macOS environments
* Use our internal tools to diagnose problems and carry out maintenance routines
* Learn to spot and suggest potential upsell opportunities
* Help prepare and deliver hardware to client sites
* Communicate clearly and professionally with users at all levels
* Adapt to a variety of real-world support scenarios in a fast-paced environment
On completion, as well as the valuable work experience you have gained, you get a nationally recognised qualification at SCQF Level 6.
We’re not expecting years of experience — just the right mindset, a keen interest in IT, and a real willingness to learn. We're looking for someone who genuinely enjoys helping others and solving problems — even when things get tricky. If you're the kind of person who stays calm under pressure, listens first, and wants to make tech feel simple and approachable, this could be your perfect starting point.
You Must Have
* A full UK/EU driving licence
* National 5s at grades A–C in English and Maths (or equivalent).
* A friendly, professional approach with great communication skills
* Be friendly, a good listener, and comfortable speaking to people from all walks of life
* Be dependable and take pride in doing things the right way
