Riteweld Engineering Ltd is a structural steel and architectural metalwork fabricator based in Banbury, and were looking for a Small Works & Sales Estimator to join our team.
This is a varied role combining estimating, customer service, and sales. Youll take ownership of all our small works enquiries — projects valued up to £15,000 — pricing them quickly and accurately while running a friendly, professional trade counter service for walk-in, phone, and email customers. Just as importantly, youll build lasting relationships with our customers and grow the base of accounts that come back to us time and again.
Success in this role looks like enquiries handled smoothly from first contact through to a won job: priced fast, followed up well, and recorded accurately, with a steadily growing list of happy repeat customers. Youll work closely with our Estimating Manager, taking full ownership of the small works pipeline so they can focus on larger projects, and youll be the friendly first point of contact many of our trade customers deal with day to day. Sitting within our estimating and sales function, this position is central to how Riteweld wins and retains everyday business — and it offers real ownership, variety, and the chance to make the role your own.
WHAT YOULL BE DOING
* Managing and pricing small works enquiries that come in by phone, email, and at the counter
* Preparing accurate quotations in line with Ritewelds pricing framework
* Giving walk-in trade customers immediate pricing and a great experience
* Following up quotes promptly to win the work and keep customers engaged
* Keeping our Quote Tracker up to date with follow-ups, callbacks, decision dates, and outcomes
* Building strong, lasting relationships with new and existing customers, and growing the active account base
* Liaising with the Estimating Manager on discounts, non-standard pricing, and priority work
* Working with our Design, Production, and Projects teams to make sure enquiries are deliverable
* Capturing competitor pricing and lost-job feedback to help us sharpen up
* Supporting continuous improvement across estimating and sales

WHAT WERE LOOKING FOR
* Estimating experience, ideally within steel fabrication, engineering, or a related trade
* A confident, personable manner with customers — face to face, on the phone, and over email
* Strong attention to detail and the ability to price work accurately under time pressure
* Good organisation and the discipline to keep a sales pipeline up to date
* A proactive, self-motivated approach and a genuine interest in winning work

THE DETAILS
* Salary: £30,000
* Hours: Full time, Monday to Friday, 8am–5pm with a 1-hour break (fully office based)
* Start date: As soon as possible
* Holiday: 20 days plus bank holidays (28 days total)
