Science Technician - Secondary School Location: Secondary School, near RhylContract: Long-term positionHours: Full-time, 5 days per weekPay: Competitive rates, in line with experience We are seeking an experienced Science Technician to provide practical and technical support to the Science Department within a busy secondary school. This is a long-term, full-time role, ideal for a knowledgeable technician who is confident supporting lessons across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics. Key Responsibilities Preparing equipment, materials, and chemicals ready for class in line with lesson requirementsSafely handling, storing, and disposing of chemicals in accordance with COSHH and school policiesSetting up and clearing down laboratories before and after practical lessonsSupporting teaching staff during practical experiments when requiredMaintaining laboratory equipment and ensuring stock levels are monitored and replenishedCarrying out routine checks, cleaning, and basic maintenance of apparatusEnsuring all health and safety procedures are followed at all timesKeeping accurate records of chemicals, equipment, and safety documentation Essential Requirements Previous experience working as a Science Technician (or similar role) in a school or laboratory settingStrong knowledge of laboratory health and safety proceduresConfidence preparing chemicals and practical resources for secondary-level science lessonsGood organisational skills and attention to detailAbility to work independently and as part of a team Desirable Experience supporting KS3 and KS4 science lessonsRelevant science or laboratory qualificationFamiliarity with school-based science departments What's on Offer A long-term, stable positionFull-time hours, Monday to FridaySupportive school environmentPay rates aligned with experience and qualifications
