We are looking for a Senior Quality Assurance ESG Analyst to join our successful ESG team. This is a Home Based role with some occasional travel required, with potential for overnight stays.
Role and Responsibilities:
You will be responsible for conducting Quality Assurance (QA) of clients’ Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) deliverables to include ESG Assessments and Reports; Climate-related Financial Disclosures (CFD); Climate Scenarios; Scope 1, 2 and 3 calculations and reports; and Net Zero Strategies. Also, you will conduct ISO 9001 internal audits and external assurance services for clients, for example, ISO 14064, AA1000 and Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD). In addition, you will be involved in developing and updating Quality Assurance (QA) procedures and checklists for a range of ESG services. Furthermore, you will manage staff members and support their career progression.
The successful candidate's responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
* Responsible for QA checks and audit trails for client deliverables, to ensure they are compliant, with no omissions or misstatements. For example, Scope 1, 2 and 3 calculations and reports; climate scenario analysis; and CFD.
* Conduct external assurance services for clients. For example, verification of GHG emissions to meet ISO 14064, AA1000 and CSRD.
* Communicate QA feedback to colleagues, to ensure excellent quality ESG deliverables.
* Provide technical support to QA Team members and other ESG teams, to meet client deliverables.
* Manage staff members, conduct appraisals, set KPIs, provide mentoring and career progression support.
* Develop and update ESG procedures, in line with regulations, guidance and best practice standards. For example, CFD & CSRD disclosures.
* Review and keep up to date with new policies and legislation, associated with ESG services.
* Read and comply with the company’s Health and Safety Policy; taking reasonable care for the Health and Safety of themselves and others; co-operate with managers and other employees in fulfilling our objectives and statutory duties.
Experience and Qualifications
Essential:
* Degree in STEM / Humanities discipline or equivalent professional experience.
* A minimum of three years of ESG experience, with a good understanding of ESG frameworks.
* An awareness and understanding of the Greenhouse Gas Protocol.
* Ability to QA a range of clients’ ESG deliverables.
* Advanced user of the Microsoft Office Suite.
* Strong report writing capabilities, to write QA processes.
* Experience in providing training to staff members.
* Able to follow good analytical practice by documenting assumptions & methodology, maintaining version control, building easy-to-audit spreadsheets, and keeping documentation organised.
Desirable:
* 4+ years of experience in consultancy or analytical roles, focusing on carbon or broader environmental management.
* Knowledge of energy efficiency, renewable energy technology and climate models.
* Experience in conducting assurance services for clients, for example, ISO 14064, AA1000 or CSRD.
* Experience with conducting carbon footprint calculations (Scopes 1, 2 and 3).
* Experience in managing staff members.
* Experience in writing Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
