Deputy Care Home Manager

Shifts: Combination of floor-based (7:am–7:pm) and supernumerary hours
Are you an experienced and motivated leader looking to take the next step in your career? We’re seeking a Deputy Manager to join our dedicated team in Tadworth, supporting the day-to-day running of our well-established care home specialising in Dementia, Mental Health conditions and Complex Needs.
This is a non-clinical role, ideal for a compassionate and organised individual with a strong background in care, team leadership, and quality assurance.
Key Responsibilities:
Split Role – Leadership & Hands-On Care
1. Supernumerary Duties (Flexible hours):
2. Conduct audits and quality assurance checks
3. Lead, support and develop the care team
4. Support with recruitment, staff rotas and performance management
5. Ensure compliance with CQC standards and internal policies
6. Attend handovers regularly to maintain oversight and continuity
7. Support the Home Manager with inspections and reports
8. On-the-Floor Duties (Shift pattern: 7:am–7:pm):
9. Work as part of the care team to deliver high-quality, person-centred care
10. Act as a role model and senior point of contact for staff on shift
11. Respond to care needs, incidents, or issues that arise in real time
12. Support with medication administration and documentation
What We’re Looking For:
13. Previous experience in a senior care or team leader role (Deputy Manager or similar)
14. Strong understanding of CQC regulations and best practice in social care
15. Excellent communication, organisational and leadership skills
16. A hands-on approach with the ability to manage, support and motivate others
17. A genuine passion for providing exceptional care to residents
