A well-established accountancy practice in Basingstoke is seeking a Personal Tax Senior to join its growing Private Client Tax team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a CTA-qualified or part-qualified accountant with experience in private client tax, looking to manage a portfolio of clients and develop their technical and advisory skills.
The Role
* Manage a portfolio of private client tax clients, ensuring compliance with HMRC and internal deadlines
* Prepare and process self-assessment tax returns for individuals, partnerships and trusts
* Calculate liabilities and advise clients on payment dates
* Assist with client queries and provide ad hoc tax advice with support from senior staff
* Handle billing of personal portfolio clients after work completion
* Deal with correspondence, telephone calls, and client meetings
* Support Partners and senior team members with technical queries and advisory projects
* Provide guidance and training to junior team members
* Deal with HMRC correspondence, telephone calls and enquiries
* Provide general support to the wider tax team as required
Candidate Profile
* CTA part-qualified or fully qualified (study support available if required)
* Fully ATT qualified
* 2–4 years’ UK practice experience in mid-size or mid-tier accountancy firms
* Significant experience in a private client tax team
* Highly organised, able to manage multiple clients and deadlines
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
* Resilient, proactive and detail-oriented
* Confident using IT and quick to learn new software
* Strong team player with the ability to work independently
* Positive, commercial approach with tact and discretion
