Join the Older Persons Therapy Team based at the Bristol Royal Infirmary as a Band 6 Physiotherapist, where you will work as part of an integrated therapy team to deliver an effective and co-ordinated specialist service across the frailty and care of the elderly pathways. This is an exciting time to be joining our team as we are in the process of evolving into a Front door team, including ED, OPAU and AMU and an Older Persons Therapy Team managing the Care of the Elderly wards and Complex Discharge wards. Our team is made up of Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Apprentice Occupational Therapists and Therapy Technicians, who pride themselves with the support we provide each other and the care we provide to our patients.
Your day-to-day will involve working as part of a multi-disciplinary team, incorporating the comprehensive geriatric assessment to identify a patients’ needs in various clinical settings including the Emergency Department, Older Person’s Assessment Unit and the Care of the Elderly Wards. You will play a key role in encouraging positive risk taking to avoid hospital admission and supporting early discharge from hospital.
