My client, an established engineering organisation operating within a highly specialised technical domain is seeking to strengthen its production capabilities through the addition of an Electronics Test Lead.
The business works across complex system environments, delivering configurable hardware solutions into regulated and performance‑critical sectors. With a long‑standing presence in its field, it continues to support a range of programmes requiring precision, reliability, and ongoing technical development.
THE ROLE
This is a hands‑on, technically focused position where you will take ownership of the test function within a production workshop.
You will be responsible for ensuring that complex electromechanical systems are fully tested, fault‑free, and ready for release. This role goes beyond testing alone, requiring strong diagnostic skills and the ability to resolve issues at component level.
You will act as the technical lead for all test activities, ensuring quality, efficiency, and continuous improvement across the function.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
* Lead and manage the product test function within the workshop
* Perform testing, fault finding, and diagnosis on complex electromechanical systems
* Identify and resolve issues at PCB and component level
* Write and develop test procedures and documentation
* Support production throughput and capacity planning
* Maintain and improve test equipment, rigs, and processes
* Conduct failure analysis and non‑conformance reporting
* Collaborate with engineering and production teams to drive improvements
* Ensure all products meet required quality and performance standards
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Essential
* Strong background in electronics testing
* Experience working with electromechanical systems
* Proven ability in fault finding and root cause analysis (component level)
* Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical drawings
* Hands‑on, practical mindset with a methodical approach to problem solving
Desirable
* Experience in safety‑critical/precision engineering environments
* Familiarity with PCB diagnostics and repair
* Previous experience in a test or technical lead role
