Job Title: Fabricator / Mechanical Engineer

Location: Llanmiloe, Carmarthen
Contract Length: 6 Months
You are expected to be an integral part of a team, providing mechanical support to the Range. Fabrication, machining, general mechanical engineering and problem‑solving skills are essential, as is the ability to communicate effectively.
Purpose of the Job
Perform the duties of a Mechanical Engineer within the Engineering section based at Pendine, assisting in the production/maintenance of mechanical targets, equipment and components. Tasks range from machining, fabrication (welding), mechanical engineering of items, and operating the mechanical workshop equipment necessary to perform these tasks safely.
Key Accountabilities
* Ensure that the manufacture and maintenance of the Range equipment is carried out in line with the works schedule.
* Interpret and work from engineering drawings.
* Operate the mechanical workshop's equipment.
* Maintain general knowledge of health, safety and environmental issues with a good awareness of their implementation.
* Work safely with minimal supervision.
Essential Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required
* Recognised Mechanical Apprenticeship or similar training (Services mechanical engineering training or Mechanical NVQ training).
* Demonstrable Mechanical Engineering skills.
* B/TEC ONC Mechanical Engineering.
* Mechanical workshop experience.
* Fabrication/welding skills and general machining operations.
* Flexible and willing to work within a team.
* Good communication skills.
