Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing assistance and care to individuals in need, ensuring their comfort and well-being. This position requires a strong commitment to patient care, alongside the ability to manage various tasks related to daily living activities.
Responsibilities
* Provide personal care and support to clients, including assistance with bathing, dressing, and grooming.
* Assist with mobility and transfers, including heavy lifting when necessary.
* Implement behaviour management strategies to support clients with specific needs.
* Deliver first aid when required and maintain a safe environment for all clients.
* Engage in meaningful activities with clients, promoting social interaction and emotional well-being.
* Support children or seniors in childcare or assisted living settings as needed.
* Maintain accurate records of care provided and report any changes in clients' conditions to the appropriate personnel.
* Drive clients to appointments or community activities as required.
Skills
* Previous experience in patient care or as a nurse is highly desirable.
* Strong understanding of first aid principles and practices.
* Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and effectively.
* Experience in behaviour management techniques is an advantage.
* Compassionate approach towards senior care and assisted living environments.
* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
* Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, demonstrating flexibility and reliability.
* A valid driving licence is preferred for transporting clients when necessary.
