The Opportunity
We are recruiting for multiple Senior Manufacturing Engineers – NC Programmers to join BAE Systems at Samlesbury. This is an exciting opportunity to support the manufacture of advanced aerospace products, creating and modifying NC programs for both hard and soft metal components while working within a highly skilled manufacturing engineering environment.
You will play a key role in delivering high-quality NC programming solutions, supporting production operations, and collaborating with manufacturing teams to ensure efficient and effective programme delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Create new NC programs for hard and soft metal components to required quality, cost, and delivery standards.
Modify and improve existing NC programs in line with project and business requirements.
Provide build line support and resolve issues identified during tape prove and production activities.
Work closely with manufacturing, production, and engineering teams to ensure seamless programme implementation.
Generate and maintain Condition of Supply (COS) data.
Support process planning activities and ensure manufacturability requirements are met.
Apply Design for Manufacture (DFM) principles and dimensional management techniques.
Ensure all activities are conducted in accordance with quality, safety, and engineering standards.
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across manufacturing engineering processes.
Essential Experience
Experience of machining principles and manufacturing processes.
Recent hands-on experience using CATIA V4/V5 for NC programming.
CATIA V4/V5 modelling experience.
Experience generating Condition of Supply (COS) data.
Good understanding of Design for Manufacture (DFM).
Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
Understanding of process planning and basic design principles.
Desirable Experience
Experience with Siemens NX.
Knowledge of Autodesk Powermill and/or Powershape.
Experience using simulation software such as CGTech Vericut.
Aerospace or defence manufacturing experience.
Skills
