Associate Practitioner - Paediatrics
Band 4 Associate Practitioner role at Basildon Hospital Paediatrics. Closing date: 11 May 2026. No visa sponsorship available.
Main Duties of the Job
* Support and train, assess, plan, implement and evaluate care for specified children and young people in hospital, ensuring documentation is complete.
* Work flexibly across the children's unit to create a caring and safe environment for children, young people and families.
* Assess and recognise clinical deterioration in patients, report to nurse/doctor in charge via monitoring and recording.
* Provide care with skills applicable to patient case load (e.g. tracheostomy tube care, venipuncture, cannulation, NG feeding, tube placement).
* Maintain cleanliness/asepsis and meet nutritional needs of patients.
* Independently perform invasive and non-invasive minor procedures at an advanced level.
* Provide holistic, child and family‑centred care.
Qualifications
* Associate Practitioner course or equivalent NVQ level 3/NNEB.
* GCSE Maths and English Level 4 or above, or equivalent.
Knowledge and Experience
* Experience working with children and young people and families.
* Experience in a healthcare setting with children and young people.
* Effective oral and legible writing skills, with minimal errors.
