Job responsibilities
Duties will include: Helping to train and supervisetrainee Ophthalmic imagers Visual field measurements Disc imaging OCT, FFA/ICG Slit lamp photography as well as retina, anterior segment and external eye imaging including management activity, including contribution to departmental policies and procedures will be expected.
As there will be a requirement for off-site working, an ability to drive wouldbe desirableThe position is for hours per week, usually worked over 4 days.
Person Specification
Qualifications, knowledge and experience
Essential
1. Science A Level or equivalent experience
2. Significant experience of working within Ophthalmic imaging to degree level equivalent
3. A detailed understanding of the anatomy and physiology of the eye and a sound knowledge of ophthalmic conditions
4. Detailed knowledge of the Visual pathway and how it relates to visual fields defects in different pathologies
5. Competent in the use of Humphrey visual field analyser
6. Should be proficient, certificated and confident in the imaging of patient's Retina, Optic Discs, Corneas using a variety of equipment including, Fundus camera and software programmes for fluorescein angiography, Indocyanine Green angiography and retinal photography.
7. Good, clear communication in order to explain tests to patients who may be hard of hearing or where there are barriers to understanding.
8. Methodical approach to tasks as intense concentration for long periods of time is required
