People Solutions are currently recruiting for a Service Hand to join our well-established client based in Tipton on a full-time, permanent basis.

Hours of Work
37 hours per week plus overtime, working rotational shifts:
* 6:00am – 2:00pm
* 2:00pm – 10:00pm
Salary
£31,173 per annum plus 7.5% rotational shift allowance (total package £33,510)

Day-to-Day Duties
* Support the Shift Supervisor and Charge Hands with daily and ad hoc activities
* Ensure safe working practices and maintain high health & safety standards
* Assist with the movement of materials, goods, and WIP across production areas
* Support Goods In and Despatch teams when required
* Maintain excellent housekeeping standards across all factory areas
* Complete weekly Service Hand log sheets covering: routine checks on cranes, forklifts, and MEWP equipment; cleaning, tidying, and waste removal; coolant changes; replenishing gas bottles, PPE, and sanitation supplies; organisation of lifting gear, COSHH materials, and plant/equipment relocation; supporting the maintenance team with painting, repairs, and facility upkeep; control of laydown areas, barriers, bollards, and signage; and preparing the facility for planned closures (e.g., Christmas shutdown)
* Manage key cabinets and maintain accurate work records
Essential Skills
* Previous experience in a general maintenance, service, or industrial support role
* Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
* Awareness of EHS requirements within an industrial setting
* Ability to record work accurately and maintain high housekeeping standards
* Lifting and slinging experience
* General maintenance and basic DIY skills
* Full, clean UK driving licence
* Self-motivated, proactive, and approachable attitude
* Good time management and ability to work independently
* Flexibility with working hours (within EU Working Time Directive)
Desirable Skills
* Trade background (mechanical, electrical, or similar)
* Overhead crane operation experience
* First Aid or Fire Warden training
* Forklift Truck / Counterbalance licence
* IPAF qualification (Cherry Picker / Scissor Lift)
Training Provided
* Comprehensive on-the-job training across all processes and equipment
* Opportunities to achieve additional certifications including Forklift, IPAF, First Aid, and Fire Warden qualifications
