Financial Accountant
Location: Bathgate, Scotland
Job Summary
Onsite Monday – Friday 37.5 P/W.
About the Role
* Managing and improving working capital, including cash flow forecasting processes.
* Overseeing the shared service accounts payable process.
* Ensuring all tax matters (VAT, Corporation Tax, capital allowances) are completed accurately and in line with statutory requirements.
* Reconciling intercompany transactions and balances on a monthly basis.
* Delivering fully reconciled monthly trial balances.
* Supporting year‑end audits and the preparation of statutory accounts for UK entities.
* Developing and implementing financial policies, procedures, and controls.
* Building strong financial business‑partnering relationships across global finance and operational teams.
* Supporting capital investment planning, forecasting, and reporting.
* Providing accurate financial information and support to meet internal and client requirements.
Candidate Requirements
* Part‑qualified AAT or ACCA (or equivalent).
* Strong knowledge of accounting standards, including US GAAP.
* Understanding of UK tax legislation (Desirable).
* Experience in financial and management accounting.
* Advanced Excel skills; experience with JDE preferred.
* Strong analytical, organisational, and problem‑solving skills.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Proactive, self‑motivated, and results‑driven approach.
* High level of integrity and attention to detail.
* Ability to manage workload effectively and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
* Willingness to work on‑site, with occasional travel as required.
