Job Title: Field Engineer
Location: Oxford/Reading area
Reporting to: Onsite Manager
Purpose:
The Field Engineer is responsible for delivering high-quality, face-to-face technical support across client sites in the South Region. This includes break/fix services, scheduled visits, maintenance, installations, and emergency response. The role demands flexibility, adaptability, and a proactive approach to resolving client issues, whether through planned visits or urgent interventions.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Provide on-site technical support to clients, resolving hardware and software issues in line with company standards.
2. Install, configure, maintain, and upgrade IT systems, including desktops, laptops, servers, and network devices.
3. Respond to technical queries and incidents with appropriate prioritisation to meet service level agreements (SLAs) and customer satisfaction targets.
4. Accurately log all activities in the PSA system, adhering to established Service Desk protocols.
5. Maintain up-to-date and accurate documentation for each client site.
6. Manage your support queue efficiently, ensuring timely resolution of issues while delivering exceptional customer service.
7. Foster strong working relationships with clients and internal team members.
8. Identify and propose improvements to client systems and services to enhance performance and service delivery.
9. Ensure all work complies with relevant safety, security, and operational standards.
10. Collaborate with Professional Services Engineers on project-based work when required.
11. Provide remote support via the Service Desk when not attending client sites.
12. Be available for ad-hoc, urgent, or Priority 1 (P1) site visits as needed.

Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience:
Essential:
20. Demonstrable experience as a Service Desk Engineer or Field Engineer
21. Demonstrable knowledge and support with Microsoft Windows Server / Desktop Environments
22. Experience with Microsoft 365, Backup/DRaaS and related technologies, Entra ID & IaaS
23. Knowledge of Networking technologies (TCP/IP, Firewall, Routing/Switching)
24. Must hold a full UK driving license and have transport with Business Insurance
Desirable:
25. Knowledge of InTune & Conditional Access Technologies
26. Knowledge of Mimecast email security
