Behaviour Support Assistant – Secondary SEMH School (Full-Time or Part-Time | Ongoing Role) Start Date: April Contract: Ongoing | Full-Time or Part-Time Available ABC Teachers are recruiting for a Behaviour Support Assistant to work in a secondary SEMH school, supporting students with social, emotional and behavioural needs. This role is ideal for candidates from support work, youth work, social work or similar backgrounds who are confident working in challenging but highly rewarding environments. Flexible: Full-time or part-time opportunities available About the Role As a Behaviour Support Assistant, you will be working with secondary-aged students who may display: • SEMH needs (Social, Emotional & Mental Health) • Challenging and high-risk behaviours • Dysregulated behaviour and emotional outbursts You will: • Support students on a 1:1 and small group basis • Help manage extremely challenging behaviour using a calm and consistent approach • Build strong, professional relationships with pupils • Support students both in and out of the classroom • Work closely with teaching staff and pastoral teams ⚠️ Important: Some students may display violent or aggressive behaviours, therefore candidates must be confident, resilient and experienced in managing these situations.
