Role Title: Senior Systems Engineer - Power Station Integration
Location: Hybrid working with one of the following locations as your primary site: Derby, Warrington or Manchester.

We are now recruiting for the exciting role of Senior Systems Engineer - Power Station Integration, to be involved in industry leading, cutting-edge design project for a new type of power station.
The Senior Systems Engineer willdevelop & deliver power station design solutions that meet the required attributes of the RR SMR power station by integrating functional design and undertaking design optioneering as a key member of the Power Station Integration team.
The Power Station Integration team deliver the overarching functional plant design and manage the associated measures of performance. This role may undertake aspects of both these areas using systems engineering methods to integrate solutions across the power station, as well as flowing requirements to lower tier systems ensuring the whole power station requirements and identifying and driving improvements and risk mitigations where the attributes are affected
Key Results & What can be Achieved in the Role
* Own and run independently the design of Power Station Capabilities/Features and manage the performance and attributes of the power station in relation to these. (E.g. net power output, availability, product cost etc.).
* Use experience and systems engineering techniques to deliver Power Station design solutions against product requirements.
* Ensure requirements flow to the lower tier systems enables the overarching power station attributes and objectives to be met.
o Elicit capability requirements.
o Integrate across multi-level disciplined design teams to develop the design capability.
o Deliver the plant level solutions to meet key attributes.
* Drive the delivery of performance opportunities and risk mitigations.
* Develop the business understanding and impact on performance from alternative power station variants.

Key Selection Criteria
* Highly experienced in product and system level design & integration
o Experience in owning and solving complex product/system level design problems.
o Experience in delivering design solutions across multiple systems & design areas to meet design requirements.
o Experience in defining system measures of performance to meet product level attributes.
* Skilled in Design Optioneering
o Experienced in design optioneering and carrying out robust multi-attribute decision making to deliver design solutions.
o Experience in design space mapping techniques (internal and external variation) is desirable.
* Experience in Systems Engineering
o Experience in techniques such as system architecting, design decision making and engineering trade studies.
o Demonstration of a systems engineering mindset and ability to drive this throughout the business.
o Experience in requirements elicitation & management.
o Experience with requirements management & Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools and/or functional flow modelling is desirable.
* Domain Experience
o Engineering background with domain expertise in a highly regulated environment.
o Experience in either nuclear or power generation is desirable.
o Knowledge of power generation cycle would also be desirable.
* Demonstratable interpersonal skills
o Demonstrable skills in integrating across multi-disciplined teams.
o Actively seek stakeholder inputs and able to elicit requirements and needs.
o Ability to effectively communicate and influence across all levels of the organisation in both written and verbal form.
o Ability to independently work with multi-disciplined teams to deliver integrated solutions.
Training & Qualification Requirements
Will have a engineering degree or equivalent experience.
