Pay Rate: £13.75 - £14.50 per day (depending on experience)
We are currently working with a welcoming and supportive school in the Huyton area that is seeking a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant to join their team on a full-time basis from October. The Role:
As a SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teaching staff to support pupils who require additional emotional and behavioural support within the classroom. You will help to create a safe, structured and encouraging environment, providing tailored interventions, 1:1 support, and small group work where necessary. This role requires patience, empathy and resilience, with a focus on building positive relationships and promoting pupils’ self-confidence and independence.
The Ideal Candidate:
* Experience supporting children with SEMH needs (school-based or transferable experience).
* Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
* Ability to remain calm under pressure and manage challenging behaviour effectively.
* A nurturing and empathetic approach to supporting pupils.
* Resilience, adaptability, and a genuine passion for helping young people succeed.
* A relevant qualification (e.g., CACHE, NVQ, Psychology/Child Development degree) is desirable but not essential.
