As a VMU Workshop Manager, you will be responsiblefor the following: Oversee comprehensive maintenance tasks such as servicing, inspections, repairs, MOT preparations, and handling breakdowns. Maintain a thorough understanding of Legal Compliance and Roadworthiness standards, demonstrating awareness of the DVSA Earned Recognition Scheme. Uphold the company's commitment to high levels of health and safety, including compliance with ISO H&S and Environmental standards. Implement safe working practices and maintain fleet integrity, ensuring that Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Risk Assessments (RAs) are current for all tasks. Oversee workshop operations, including staff management and vehicle oversight. Conduct and schedule regular inspections and maintenance activities for all vehicles to meet DVSA standards. Track and report MOT pass rates, managing the DVSA/DVA booking system effectively. Handle all vehicles with care and adhere to health and safety protocols. Operate within defined contract/budget constraints, optimizing external labor and parts sales. Monitor labor and parts sales closely to achieve monthly targets. Coordinate vehicle/trailer breakdowns efficiently.
