As part of the Service Department, the Field Service Engineer is responsible for break fix, maintaining and installing Bizerba equipment to our customer base. With a proven technical background preferably supported by a technical qualification, you will liaise directly with customers ensuring you deliver an efficient professional service.
Responsibilities
* service, install and repair a wide range of weighing and inspection equipment, from static scales to automatic check weighing and automatic weigh-price labelling systems, including metal detection, X-ray and vision inspection systems
* Investigate complex technical issues such as electrical and mechanical breakdowns and network related issues
* Provide customer training on equipment
* Manage and maintain effective stock levels of parts needed to carry out repairs
* Present a professional image of the department and company to internal and external customers (uniform provided)
* Maintain company vehicle in a clean and organized fashion in accordance with vehicle policy
* Maintain a library of backups for customers
* Keep all company tools in good order (hand tools, ladders, laptops, etc.)
* Attend required training courses and keep Health & Safety training up to date
* Adhere to Health & Safety and Quality Management policies and procedures
* Maintain calibrated weighs and ensure compliance
* When calibrating/verifying equipment, ensure all legal standards are met and work to the highest standard
* Obtain qualifications deemed relevant by Bizerba for day-to-day duties
* Prepare and write incident/call reports to assist Line Manager when required
* Participate in out-of-hours work when required
* Complete administrative tasks on time and to standards
* Hold a full and legally valid UK driving license
* Hold a valid Safety Passport/ECS or equivalent (relevant details provided)
* Work to company KPIs and SLAs
* Overnight stays for training or tasks as requested
* Participate in rollout and refit activities to fulfil business requirements
* Attend head office as required by business needs
Qualifications
* Technical background with relevant technical qualification preferred
* Full UK driving license
* Safety Passport/ECS or equivalent
* Willingness to participate in training and development
Location
This role is for the Swindon/Bristol/Newport/Gloucester area - South West.
