Development Engineer – Perth Employment Type: Part-Time, Permanent – Flexible 3-4 days per week Salary: Competitive, DOE Are you an experienced Development Engineer looking for the next step in your career? Our client is a well established family owned property developer looking to strengthen their engineering team. Delivering high quality residential and mixed use developments you will support and manage key technical aspects of the development projects. The Role: As Development Engineer you will be taking responsibility for procurement of contractors, site coordination and liaising with statutory bodies. Key Responsibilities: Procurement of Public Utilities: Liaise with utility providers (water, gas, electric, telecoms) to procure and coordinate infrastructure services. Ensure timely delivery and compliance with project timelines. Civil Engineering Contractor Procurement: Tender and appoint suitable groundworks and civil engineering contractors. Review technical specifications and ensure value engineering where applicable. Site Management (Technical Focus): Oversee and coordinate on-site civil engineering activities. Monitor progress, ensure technical standards are met, and resolve any on-site engineering issues. Adoptions & Road Bonds: Liaise with Scottish Water, local councils, and consultants to manage roads and sewers adoptions. Oversee Section Agreements (e.g., S56, S109, S21) and road bond releases. Maintain compliance with relevant Scottish legislation and adoption processes. Technical Support: Assist with site assessments, drainage strategies, and road design input. Collaborate with the planning, architectural, and construction teams to support project delivery. What We’re Looking For: To be successful in this role you will bring: Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline. Proven experience in residential or infrastructure development, preferably in Scotland. Strong understanding of Scottish Water and local authority adoption processes. Familiarity with procurement processes and utility coordination. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Strong communication and coordination skills. Full UK driving licence.
