What You’ll Be Doing
The Claims department handles claims while aiming for the best customer experience in the UK insurer market. A day in the life of the Claims Handler will be varied, from helping customers solve problems to using listening skills to ensure customers receive the best advice.
You Will Be Responsible For
* Delivering a first-class experience to customers to get their claims dealt with quickly.
* Managing activity on all relevant aspects of claims to maximise cost control and negotiate the optimum settlement.
* Managing new claim registrations (FNOL/First Notification of Loss of Motor claims/Third Party claims) ensuring all are registered in accordance with service level agreements.
* Instructing relevant suppliers/investigators at the outset of a claim, validating policy cover, considering clauses, warranties and endorsements, and making an accurate liability assessment to manage customer expectations.
* Proactively and professionally communicate with customers and colleagues to manage expectations and achieve the most appropriate outcomes, while maintaining insurer relationships to high standards.
What I Need
Skills
* Minimum of 12 months experience in a claim handling role, preferably with a defendant or insurer caseload.
* Experience with MOJ and OIC Portals is advantageous but not essential.
* Effective communication/listening skills
* A can-do attitude and ability to operate under pressure
* Ability to assist clients in a clear, concise, friendly, and efficient way
* High level customer service skills
