Transport Planner - Portsmouth
Salary: £32,000 - £38,000 per year + on-call bonuses up to £6,600

We are looking for an experienced Transport Planner to join a busy operations team in Portsmouth. This is a key role ensuring the efficient planning and coordination of container movements.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan and allocate daily container haulage across the fleet.
Forward-plan workloads to maximise operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.
Communicate effectively with drivers, customers, and subcontractors.
Manage delays and operational challenges in a proactive, solution-focused way.
Maintain accurate records using transport management systems and digital tools.
Occasionally assist with general haulage tasks as needed.
Skills & Experience Required:
Proven experience in container haulage or transport planning.
Strong understanding of port operations and regional transport routes.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficient in IT; experience with transport management systems (e.g., TOPS) is an advantage.
Ability to stay calm under pressure and make operational decisions.
Flexible to participate in an on-call rota.
