Salary Details: Scale: MG1-UP1 (£28.66 - £41.20 per hour)
Opportunity to progress onto a further scale
Hours of Work: Equivalent to 150 annual teaching hours
Provision will take place throughout the academic year.
Contract Type: Hourly paid – Fixed Term to 30 June 2026
Qualifications:
* You will be qualified to HNC level as a minimum – however, it is highly desirable to hold a degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant discipline.
* If you do not hold a recognised teaching qualification (such as PGCE), you will be required to undertake and achieve a PGCE within a specified timescale.
Experience:
* You will have substantive Process Operations experience in the Energy and related industries, either as a Control Room Process Operator or Technician, preferably with an understanding or relevant experience of the emerging renewable energy technologies & the energy transition.
We are seeking a dynamic and knowledgeable professional to join our Control Room Training Centre as part of our teaching team. In this role, you will play a vital part in delivering high-quality training and education for our ‘Control Room Operator’ foundation, intermediate and advanced courses in the new Energy Transition Skills Hub.
Flexibility is essential for this role as you will be required to deliver on a range of courses throughout the year, including full-time during some academic holidays, daytime and occasional evening sessions. Delivery is likely to comprise of the following:
* Evening courses – 6-9pm
* 4-day courses will run throughout the holiday periods
* Day-time courses will run during term-time
Exact days/times will be confirmed prior to commencement and there will be flexibility to share the delivery of some courses with other teaching staff.
