We have an opportunity for a Surgical First Assistant to join their team in the Theatre department. We are seeking individuals with Orthopaedic experience. This is a full-time role for hours a week. The role holder will be required to cover a flexible shift pattern.
Your new role
1. To deliver safe, quality care for patients during their perioperative phase of care.
2. To support and assist in the management and organization of care within the Operating Department.
3. Assist in the delivery of patient care.
4. Contribute to quality improvement.
5. Develop and enhance the skills and knowledge of others and self.
6. Apply and promote evidence-based practice within your scope of practice.
7. Apply legislation, policies, and procedures correctly.
8. Maintain knowledge of the Health and Safety at Work Act, ensuring appropriate measures are taken for patients, relatives, visitors, hospital staff, and contractors.
9. Achieve objectives and demonstrate CHG behaviors in all actions.
10. Assemble, check, and prepare surgical equipment, instruments, and consumables for various operative procedures.
What you'll need to succeed
1. Registered Practitioner with NMC or HCPC registration.
2. ILS certification.
3. Mentorship qualification.
4. Maths and English GCSE at grades A to C or equivalent.
5. Proficient in PC use, including relevant software and systems.
6. Experience in customer care, including challenging interactions.
7. Previous experience in an acute healthcare environment.
8. Surgical First Assistant Certificate.
