Software Development Team Lead - Southampton - Hybrid - £80,000 + Benefits
About Us
We are a fast-growing organisation based in Southampton, delivering innovative technology solutions that support global maritime operations. Our bespoke cloud-based employment and payroll platform underpins our business, and we are continuing to expand into areas such as yacht registration, mobile apps, and client-facing digital services.
The Role
We are seeking an experienced Software Development Team Lead to manage and inspire our development team. Reporting directly to the Chief Technology Officer, you will be responsible for leading a group of skilled developers, ensuring high-quality delivery, and driving innovation across our technology platforms.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of software engineers and developers.
* Oversee project delivery across the full software development lifecycle.
* Manage software build processes, ensuring quality, scalability, and security.
* Support recruitment, training, and performance reviews within the department.
* Collaborate with project and product managers to improve workflows and efficiency.
* Maintain and evolve our DevSecOps strategy, including CI/CD and QA/UAT practices.
About You
* 7–10+ years’ software development experience with strong leadership skills.
* Proven track record managing teams in an agile environment.
* Strong problem-solving, organisational, and communication skills.
* Interest in the maritime and yachting industry.
* Degree in Software Engineering or Computer Science.
* Experience with eCommerce platforms.
* Knowledge of GitHub workflows and modern CI/CD practices.
