An exciting new opportunity has arisen for a suitably qualified and experienced Health and Care Professions Council registered Biomedical Scientist to join the Haematology and Blood Transfusion department as a Healthcare Scientist Team Manager. The department is based in the modern Forth Valley Royal Hospital in a beautiful part of central Scotland which has excellent transport links.
The Laboratory provides Haematology and Transfusion support to the acute hospital, community hospitals and to general practice. We are compliant with the Blood Safety and Quality Regulations, and have just undergone UKAS Accreditation and are awaiting the final certification.
You will manage and coordinate day to day technical activities including responsibilities for quality standards, support managerial staff to maintain and deliver the Quality Management System including laboratory standard ISO 15189 and ensure compliance with the Blood Safety and Quality Regulations. You will also have responsibilities for line management, staff training, service development, health and safety and provide specialist advice to service users and colleagues. You will be qualified to MSc level or equivalent and have several years post HCPC registration experience within a hospital Haematology/Blood Transfusion Laboratory. You will be employed to work out of hours shifts including public holidays as required by the needs of the service however as a Team Manager you will not be required to participate routinely on the out of hours rota.
