Charge Nurse – Ward 1
Permanent | Band 6, 36 hours per week.
Overview
Provide a 24‑hour inpatient service predominantly for older people, delivering rehabilitation and end‑of‑life care within a nurse‑led unit.
Responsibilities
* Lead and support the nursing team on Ward 1, making confident decisions and ensuring high‑quality person‑centred care.
* Supervise registered and unregistered staff, as well as student nurses, and work independently without direct supervision.
* Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team, patients and families to lead on and coordinate complex discharges.
* Assist the Senior Charge Nurse in ensuring the safe and effective running of the ward on a day‑to‑day basis.
* Work flexible shifts—days or nights—to meet the needs of a 24/7 service.
Qualifications
* Full UK NMC registration.
* Experience in an elderly care or inpatient setting is highly desirable.
* Demonstrated leadership and the ability to motivate and inspire a nursing team.
* Strong communication and problem‑solving skills.
