An opportunity has arisen to appoint a Clinical Radiology Consultant with an interest in Gastrointestinal (GI) and Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary (HPB) imaging to join the Radiology Department of Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust. The successful candidate would be joining a team of 9 full time equivalent GI / HPB radiologists at a University hospital as part of a wider 21-member body radiology group within a dynamic team of over 60 consultant radiologists.
The successful candidate will work across both NUH campuses with close working relations with many clinical medical and surgical disciplines. We are a Major Trauma Centre, the first Radiology centre in the East Midlands Radiology Consortium and a Tertiary referral centre for HPB, GI and Oncology.

The post will have a commitment to support a range of services, including CT, MRI, plain radiograph reporting, ultrasound, multi-disciplinary team meetings and clinical-radiological meetings. There will be an on-call commitment depending on the skill set of the successful candidate.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
All consultant radiologists will have the option of having a home reporting workstation facilitating remote working days, insourcing and on-call reporting.
The post holder will be expected to participate in under-graduate and post-graduate teaching and training and there will be opportunities for research working with the Biomedical Research Centre and Sir Peter Mansfield Imaging Centre at the University of Nottingham.
Candidates must hold the Fellowship of the Royal College of Radiologists or an equivalent qualification, and must either be on the GMC Specialist Register, or within 6 months of anticipated receipt of a CCT / CESR at the time of interview.
An appropriate period of experience with specialist diagnostic/interventional techniques is desirable, as is a track record in research.

Clinical Skills/Experience
* Completed radiology training program.
* Evidence of technical skills as described in the job description
* Documented evidence of experience in performing and reporting GI and HPB studies

* Documented sub-speciality non vascular interventional competencies and experience
* Specific training in communication skills
Practical Requirements
* Ability to travel between City Hospital Campus and Queen’s Medical Centre campus
* Ability to return immediately to NUH to provide on-call duties

* Evidence of participation in Clinical Audit. Able to teach and support junior staff effectively.

* Track record in radiology research preferably with original publications
