Description Occupational Therapist | 9105 | Permanent Contract | Part-time 22.2 hours per week | £39,862 to £41,771 pro rata per annum | Grade J | Dereham Children with Disabilities team are seeking an enthusiastic Occupational Therapist (OT) to join our small team of specialist therapists. The office base will be Elizabeth House in Dereham. We are looking for an Occupational Therapist with a demonstrable two years of experience working with children and young people with disabilities. This should include experience working with Learning disability and Neurodivergent conditions. The applicant should be able to demonstrate a range of evidence-based strategies to minimise the impact of disability on daily life. Knowledge of Sensory Processing differences would be advantageous. Within this role you would support children and families where the child’s learning and/or sensory needs are substantially impacting on their ability to engage in activities of daily living and/or the demands on family life are substantial. Therapeutic interventions may include sensory, behavioural, communication and attachment based interventions. Regular supervision and CPD training opportunities are provided. The OT’s are a valued part of a busy social work team. This post entails carrying out assessments and therapy programmes to maximise the functional skills of young people with complex disabilities within their home. Whilst we work predominantly within the child’s home, we also extend our work to school and respite care settings where required.
