We are currently looking for a Health and Safety Advisor to join us at our facility in Huthwaite, UK.
The Health & Process Safety site representative is responsible for providing guidance in all Environmental, Health & Process Safety (EHPS) areas. Process Safety ensures the safety of employees, the environment, and the community by identifying and mitigating risks associated with manufacturing processes. They develop and implement safety procedures and protocols, evaluate and improve existing safety plans, and support Axalta Liquid Coatings Huthwaite Ltd (AH), including the Aberdeen and Belfast Depots.
Key responsibilities:
* Assist Management and Support Functions in maintaining, implementing, and improving EHPS requirements, and advise on necessary actions.
* Help define EHPS objectives for the locations.
* Investigate all incidents and accidents, report as needed on ETQ, and write/submission of RIDDOR reports to HSE.
* Ensure compliance with the Health, Safety and Environmental Policy & Arrangements.
* Create training presentations related to EHPS requirements.
* Develop and maintain awareness among personnel through communication, training, and active involvement in HSE/PSM initiatives.
* Update personal qualifications regularly and attend necessary training.
* Ensure compliance with the site’s Environmental permit and train staff on environmental aspects.
* Perform other tasks as assigned by management based on business needs.
Key requirements:
* Minimum 5+ years of experience in process safety engineering or a related field.
* NEBOSH National General Certificate in Occupational Health & Safety.
* Certification in Process Safety Management (PSM) is preferred.
* Experience conducting safety reviews, developing safety procedures, and ensuring regulatory compliance.
* Experience in the chemical industry is ideal. Strong computer skills are required.
* Skills include leadership, teamwork, communication, creativity, planning, listening, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
