Principal / Associate Civil Engineer - Wastewater Modeller
We are seeking a Principal or Associate Engineer to support the team leaders in managing project delivery for wastewater modelling, supervise tasks and review deliverables. The role enables you to further develop technical skills and contribute to high-quality and efficient project delivery within an award-winning water team of 350 professionals across the UK, supported by the Global Water Team.
You will be part of a team working with clients such as Severn Trent, Scottish Water Horizons, Welsh Water, and Southern Water, with opportunities for progression by combining technical and industry knowledge with leadership behaviours.
Key responsibilities
* Develop the urban drainage modelling capability in the team, provide training and development support to junior team members
* Support the team lead in managing the work of the local technical delivery team
* Provide technical input on urban drainage projects and support the wastewater team in delivering current and future projects
* Exercise independent engineering judgement and provide innovative engineering solutions
* Develop and maintain excellent client relationships at all levels, coordinate and facilitate project meetings
* Participate in business development and proposal preparation
* Promote the WSP brand through industry forums and conferences
* Contribute to the learning of the wider team through knowledge sharing
What We Will Be Looking For You To Demonstrate
* A relevant degree and chartered status, or significant progression towards qualification with ICE, IEI, IoW or CIWEM
* Clear and successful experience of wastewater hydraulic modelling (InfoWorks ICM) and ability to check the technical outputs of others prior to issue
* Working knowledge of Water Industry Specifications, Code of Practice for Hydraulic Modelling of Urban Drainage Systems and relevant British Standards
* Good presentation, written and verbal communication skills
