Mitie Property Services is looking for a motivated and highly organised Site Supervisor / Contracts Supervisor to support our growing operations across the North East, North West and Yorkshire regions. This is an excellent opportunity to join a leading property services provider delivering high‑quality refurbishment, painting, and maintenance works.
About the Role
You will act as a key link between Clients, Operational Managers, Surveyors and Operatives, ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and to specification. You'll help maintain strong commercial performance, support operational delivery, and uphold Mitie's high standards on every site.
Key Responsibilities
The role involves liaising closely with clients and tenants to ensure the smooth delivery of projects while making sure that all project specifications and quality standards are fully met at every stage. It requires working collaboratively with Contract Managers and Supervisors to maintain agreed contract margins, as well as assisting with the procurement of labour, plant, equipment, and materials in line with project needs. The position also involves coordinating with Administration to ensure that correct purchasing procedures are followed, monitoring contract start and completion dates, and submitting extension or delay requests when necessary. Regular inspections must be carried out prior to client handovers to confirm completeness and quality of work.
In addition, the role has strong health, safety, and leadership responsibilities, including the prompt and accurate reporting of all accidents and incidents, ensuring PPE is correctly issued to all operatives and contractors, and confirming that operatives have read and understood site‑specific RAMS. The individual must oversee workmanship quality and site safety, keep accurate records, and effectively communicate key information. Leading, delegating, and supporting operatives on site is essential, along with upholding Mitie's Health & Safety and Quality Management procedures. The role also includes inducting new employees, supporting training requirements, promoting strong team relationships, and maintaining professional conduct at all times.
Skills & Experience
The role requires a good level of IT literacy along with strong verbal and written communication skills to ensure information is shared clearly and effectively. A solid understanding of Health and Safety requirements is essential to maintain safe working practices, supported by basic numeracy skills for handling measurements, quantities, and other numerical tasks. The position also calls for effective leadership abilities, with strong organisational and delegation skills to manage workloads, guide team members, and ensure tasks are completed efficiently and to a high standard.
Mandatory Training (Provided if required)
The role requires completion of mandatory training, which will be provided if needed, to ensure full compliance and competence on site. This includes achieving a Level 4 (HNC) qualification in Construction Site Supervision, along with essential training in Manual Handling and Working at Height to support safe operational practices. The position also requires Asbestos Awareness training to ensure risks are properly identified and managed, as well as a clear understanding of Health and Safety responsibilities to maintain a safe working environment and meet all regulatory obligations.
What We Offer
The role offers a stable, full‑time position with a respected national provider, providing long‑term security and reliability. It includes opportunities for ongoing development and training to support professional growth, alongside working within a supportive team environment that encourages collaboration and mutual support. The position also offers a varied workload across multiple regions, ensuring diversity in daily responsibilities and exposure to different projects and locations.
